This bookclub wiki was created by the students in Drew University's First Year Seminar, Oprah's Book Club, in Fall 2006. We hope to further Oprah's goal of "getting American reading (again)," and in that spirit, anyone is welcome to create pages for any literary work as long as they:

  1. respect the mission statement for the site;
  2. respect the users (this is a book club for all readers, so please refrain from using profanities, obscenities or otherwise nasty stuff that you would prefer your little sister or grandmother not have to read);
  3. respect other authors. Don't edit for the sake of it! You should edit a page if you can add more information or if you see an error, but do so in the spirit of collaboration;
  4. do not include any plagiarized material here. If you are a Drew student and you add plagiarized material to this site you will be in violation of the academic integrity standards the same way you are if you plagiarize anywhere else (if you think someone else has already written it better than you can, just quote and cite the information, or if the source is on the web, provide a link);
  5. do not plagiarize FROM this site. We would like to encourage open communication, debate, and discussion, and for that to happen you need to be thinking and participating, not searching and appropriating. Read the book instead--you might actualy enjoy it.

If you would like to join our reading project under these conditions we welcome you. Please create a wiki identity so we know who you are.
