Landon Carter is the typical bad boy and Jamie Sullivan is the typical good girl, daughter of a minister. No one would ever think that the two of them would fall in love.  After Landon gets in trouble and is forced to do community service, he sees a different side of Jamie and himself. But, Jamie has a secret that will effect the two of them forever. This story of true love and the ups and downs of life is a truly moving story that will tug on the heart strings of every reader.

 

Author Background

 

Nicolas Sparks was born on New Year's Eve in 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved to Los Angeles in 1969 where he atttended elementary, middle, and high school. He recieved a full scholarship to the University of Notre Dame for track and field. After an injury during his freshman year, he wrote his first novel which was never published. He got married in 1989 to a woman named Cathy. He bounced around from job to job while continuing to write. He settled in pharmaceuticals .
